Working Styles:
Working styles that are available due to the increase in technology are uses such as the Word Processors, spread sheet applications, etc. Working styles that people can do these days are teleworking; where you can work from home, or mobility, where you are working on the move.
Impact on Personal Life:
Before these were invented, people use to use typewriters and also use to hand-write their work, instead of typing work up. Also, there is less time used to type work than to hand-write it. This has made a huge advancement in saving time in typing work, or even less time spent on travelling through teleworking.

Advantages:
- With Microsoft Word, that is available almost everywhere, and also easily integrates with other Microsoft Office programmes, such as if you created an Excel document, and you want to transfer the spread sheet, you can easily copy and paste information onto the document. You can also alter what type of document you want – such as making letters or reports on Microsoft Word. This is the case with only: Office 365. Some office applications are not usually ‘online.’
- With teleworking, if a child is sick and you have to take a day off work, you can still access/do your work but at home.
- Less time is spent on travelling – therefore you can spend more time for leisure/activities. This is good, as you are not overworking by doing long hours of work – but instead having breaks whenever you feel like. Also, if less time is spent on travelling, you can firstly get more work done and you can have a late start because you can chose when you want to work and what time. Having intervals of breaks in between work means that you can enjoy leisure/activities, and this makes your work less stressful.
Disadvantages:
- Can lead to isolation – people are not really interacting with colleagues, as they are staying home. Therefore, people can lose their confidence, because they are not really communicating with peers face-to-face, as they are doing their work at home. Sometimes, work can get a little boring, and it is nice to talk to colleagues while working, rather than staying at home, and not interacting with many people. This is because, when you are at home, you still want to be separated from your family, as you want to concentrate on your work.
- Also, there will be less direct control over staff with a working style such as mobility, as you are working on the move. Therefore, people can get away with not always doing the work they should be expecting to do at the time – they are therefore getting paid for hours they did not work, and this definitely is a problem.
